What is Sea Moss

Sea moss, sometimes called Irish moss, is a type of red algae which grows mostly along the northern coasts of the Atlantic ocean. It looks like a reddish brown root to the eye. It comes in a variety of hues, but red sea moss is the most common.

It’s mostly used as a thickening ingredient and as a gel. The gel is made by by heating raw or dried sea moss in water. It can also consumed as a drink, cooked with water and mixed with milk, sugar, or honey. You are also likely encounter sea moss in powdered or tablet form lately.
